Click Here to Donate - Please Consider a Gift for the Fall 2018 Annual Appeal

We invite your support of the fall 2018 Annual Appeal to fund operations, repairs, and many everyday facets of the historic site and archives. General support through the Annual Appeal touches all aspects of the operations. It makes it possible for us to have tours six days a week but also the Annual Appeal funds many of the behind-the-scenes aspects of the site and archives, such as assisting researchers, running utilities for buildings that require preservation-level conditions all year round, handling routine and emergency repairs, tree work, snow removal, and more!  A gift of any amount helps to continue operations of the 8.17 acres, home, welcome center, studio, archives and the 15,000 objects and 150,000 manuscripts we preserve. To give, please click here for secure payment through Paypal, call 914-232-4822, or mail a check to Stepping Stones Foundation, 66 Oak Road, Katonah, NY 10536.

Thank you to the many friends who contributed to the special summer 2018 campaign and recent matching challenge for “Gardens & Groves of Gratitude.” With your help, $25,000 was raised to reestablish tree, shrub, and flower varieties that were once cultivated by the Wilsons on the beloved grounds of their home. We look forward to installing the plantings in the fall and spring planting seasons for you to enjoy on your next visit. This is a tremendous first step in bringing back many of the botanical varieties lost to the elements over the years and to returning the historic landscape to match the original vision of the Bill and Lois.  To read the full story about Bill and Lois' passion for nature and walking the grounds as well as Lois love of gardening and birds, please click here for our 2018 Spring / Summer Newsletter.

More Ways to Participate in the Stepping Stones' Experience

Visit! Stepping Stones is furnished exactly as Lois left it - a simple, humble home filled with family heirlooms, personal memorabilia, and an extensive archive. Social and cultural historians, community members, and members of 12-step programs are our most frequent visitors.

Host a supportive event! If you and your friends would like to organize and hold a supportive event for Stepping Stones such as a presentation by a Foundation representative about Bill and Lois; a dinner, breakfast or luncheon; or an  entertainment event (movie, comedy, or dance), please email info@steppingstones.org with your contact information and event ideas.

Preserve and maintain!  Stepping Stones relies on the participation of its community to fulfill Lois' wishes and preserve this resource forever.  Individuals, corporations and groups show their support for keeping this historic treasure alive, by becoming Friends of Stepping Stones with a financial gift or regular pledge of support. Become a Friend by contributing any amount, whether it be $20, $50, $250, $1,000, or more, to the Stepping Stones Foundation.

Volunteer! Stepping Stones relies on the generous spirit of its community to help keep the site open to visitors and maintain the property as Lois left it.  Whether as a tour guide, a garden club member, or other type of volunteer, we need your help. There are even some jobs such as writing, editing and design that can be done remotely. To volunteer, email your contact information, availability and interests to info@steppingstones.org.
