Following is an overview of Town of Bedford hamlets’ things to do and see and places to eat. 

Bedford Hills: The nearby downtown of Bedford Hills near the train station features shops, delis, and restaurants, including Batch Cookies & Cream, Br’ers BBQ and Nino’s Italian food. South down Rte. 117 / Bedford Rs. find the Bedford Diner, Salsa Fresca, Mexican Fiesta Taqueria (vegan and vegetarian friendly), Bedford Bagel Bakery,  Shoprite, Stop N’ Shop, Chipotle, Dunkin’, sushi, fast food and pizzerias. Farther south is Village of Mount Kisco with 50+ restaurants, delis, and diners.

Katonah: Visit the quaint village for a bite to eat, to shop, or to browse galleries. Dining, take out, and coffee options include the longstanding Blue Dolphin Diner (American and Italian),  The Reading Room (coffee and pastries), LMNOP (coffee and pastries; some gluten free items), Tazza (coffee, pastries, acai bowls, smoothies, grab and go items),  LaFamilia (pizza, sandwiches, salads and full Italian menu), Village Market (deli), Sgaglio’s (deli), Goldberg’s Bagels (deli), Pauli’s Deli, Peppino’s (sit down Italian), Tengda (Asian),  Farmhouse Tavern, Jay Street Bistro, The Whitlock, and more.  Cultural venues in Katonah include Caramoor Center for the Arts, which has Rosen House history tours, a sound garden installation, and concerts, John Jay Homestead (check availability due to preservation project), and Katonah Museum of Art. Bedford Village: The Village Green is a central green-space at the heart of the historic Bedford Village about 15 minutes from Stepping Stones. It is encircled by shops, coffee, candy, and ice cream shops, bistros, churches, historic buildings operated by the Bedford Historical Society, and the newly renovated Bedford Playhouse. Venture a minute away for more dining at Truck (farm-to-table Mexican food), Ristorante Lucia (has spaces for large groups), and more.
